When selecting an album primary artist or track artist, you can click “View Details” to bring up the artist information settings screen after locating the desired artist name.
What should I keep in mind when selecting a Common Artist Name?
1. We recommend choosing a name that’s memorable and identifiable. You should also make sure that it is easy for your fans to search for your music on different platforms by entering that name. If the selected name is too unusual, hard to pronounce or remember, or too many artists have similar names, we suggest coming up with a better name.
2. If the artist name contains special characters (such as Ø), it is possible that they can’t be displayed properly and will therefore be replaced with other characters on some platforms.
Provision of an artist page link on the respective music platform
There could be several artists on the platform whose names are similar to yours. If you only provide your artist name without entering an artist page link, the platform could mistake you for another artist.
In order to avoid that the album (which you have put so much hard work into) pops up on another artist’s page after release, please must attach your Spotify and Apple Artist Page link here.
If the platform blocks your link, you probably have created a duplicate artist profile. Please return to the previous step to search for your desired artist name.
If this is your first release and you don’t have your own artist page on Spotify and Apple Music yet, you should select “I don’t have a Spotify/Apple Music Artist Page yet. Please create one for me”
What is a localized artist name?
If the well-known artist name is in a non-alphabetic language such as Mandarin, Japanese, Thai, or Korean, we recommend you provide your localized name so that it is easier for non-English speaking fans to find you.
This function is only supported on some platforms.
